Roof Painting & Recoating – Commercial & Residential
The roof of your home or business should be aesthetically appealing. It also needs to protect against the elements of the Tauranga climate. It must be done right or you’ll have to do it again in a few short years.
Painting a roof is far more advanced than just “slapping on a couple of coats of paint” and requires an extremely thorough preparation. Not only is the preparation important. The paints used on roofs must be of ultra-high quality, offer heat reflective and durability compared with a standard exterior paint, for example.
The general process for painting a roof:
Harness system installed or scaffolding fall protection to be erected around roof perimeter.
All areas of moss and mould will be sprayed with Roof Painting Tauranga’s special Moss and Mould Killer.
Water blast the existing surface to remove all dirt and grime, and any loose or flaking paint.
All areas will then be hand scraped where required to remove any further loose or flaking paint that has not being removed by the water blasting.
Hammering in or replacing loose nails or screws.
Removing rust and spot priming with Galvanised Iron Primer.
Apply two full coats of premium water based acrylic roof coating by airless spray.
Dismantle harness system or scaffolding and tidy up property.
After the job’s completion you will have a beautiful investment with added durability and colour, that will look great and protect your home or business from the elements for many years.
